Kid Cudi, who’s surprise new album, Satellite Flight, debuted at #4 on Billboard when it was released on February 25th, had some interesting things to say about the state of hip-hop during his visit to Arsenio Hall‘s late night show. According to Cudder, its his estimate that the “money, cash, hoes” and overbearing braggadocio themes that run rampant in rap today are holding the genre back, citing that it’s been “four decades” of the same themes.
He went on to say that as an artist, his main goals were attempting to help kids not feel alone, and stray away from the same suicidal thoughts that have, according to Cudi, plagued him for the past five years. Watch the entire clip below.
