Daddy Mac overdosed in May from a mixture of drugs
According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office released today, Kris Kross’ Chris Kelly died from a drug overdose on May 1.
Two months to the date that the rapper known as “Mac Daddy” was found unresponsive on the couch of his Atlanta home, Betty Honey of the Fulton Co. Medical Examiner’s office announced that Kelly had a mixture of drugs in his system. Honey said that it was not determined the exact drugs that were in his system, however, the rapper’s mother said that her son had used cocaine and heroin the night before he died and he had a history of drug abuse.
Kriss Kross invaded the Hip Hop world in 1992 through their mogul manager Jermaine Dupri with their smash single, “Jump”, which is still considered one of the world’s biggest Hip Hop hits in music history.
Earlier this year, Kris Kross performed in Atlanta to celebrate the anniversary of Dupri’s record label So So Def and Kelly was planning to make a comeback.
