Lauryn Hill, the first lady of the Fugees and grammy winning emcee, was released from prison yesterday. She was serving a three month stint for tax evasion, after failing to pay the more than $1.8 million in income taxes from 2007-2008. Instead of being on tour, Ms. Hill found herself in the minimum security Federal Correction Institution in Danbury, Connecticut.
Thankfully she is back, and intends to release some new material. Prior to her return, she dropped “Consumerism,”a hard hitting track detailing society’s corrupt ways. Hopefully she continues spitting and returns to the booth.
