Watch as Hip-Hop Becomes a TV Show
Director, Lee Daniels and his partner, Danny Strong are set to direct a new show coming to FOX called Empire. This is the mark of Lee’s TV directorial debut.
Daniels and Strong are known for their hit movies, The Butler and Precious. The network didn’t announce who is going to be the stars of the show but there are some assumptions going around as to who should be the leading star.
There is no word on when the show is going to air as of yet. The show will feature both original and current music and also will be executively produced by Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. Grazer, himself is a huge hip-hop fan and wants to create a character that represents what he is passionate about.
Here is what FOX said about the upcoming show:
“Fox has announced they will move forward with the pilot for Empire, the duo’s family drama set in the world of hip-hop. Strong wrote the pilot, which Daniels will direct. The show will feature both original and contemporary music, like a rap Nashville.”
Look out for the show; hopefully it will premiere soon!
