Lil Durk finds himself in handcuffs in Chicago’s South Side.
Chicago authorities pressed the GBE affiliate after he tossed a gun into his car, a .40 caliber to be exact, which happened to be fully loaded. Police responded to a call in the Englewood neighborhood about a man with a gun, Lil Durk was taken into custody shortly after they arrived. According to police, upon the arrest Lil Durk did not resist.
The 20-year-old rapper has a home outside of Chicago’s crime ridden South Side. In Englewood he was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and is expected in bond court tomorrow. In October 2011, he faced gun charges with a possession of a firearm with the serial number scratched off to make things worse. Lil Durk then pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated unauthorized use of a weapon.
Lil Durk is rumored to be a member of the Black Disciples, a Chicago street gang. During Chief Keef’s come up last summer, he was the target of a YouTube video released by “Lil JoJo”, a then 18-year-old who also referenced the Black Disciples in his lyrics. Suspicion escalated in the South Side and in the hip-hop realm as their beef made national news following Lil JoJo’s death. He was gunned down in Englewood and raised eyebrows amongst hip-hop fans following Chief Keef’s tweet about JoJo wanting to be just like the members of GBE.
We await further news on Lil Durk following his cour arrangement tomorrow. Hopefully GBE members and affiliates can stay out of trouble and focus on giving Chicago some attention through their music rather than their arrests.
