L Streetz has the streets talking about “Informantz.”
Over the past few years despite nationwide attention for violence and an alarmingly high homicide rate, the Chicago rap scene has steadily grown in mainstream popularity with the successes of artists like Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Chance the Rapper and Rocky Fresh.
Enter L Streetz, a strong female emcee who’s got next, and is putting on for the women of the Windy City.
Hailing from Chiraq’s underground, L Streetz has garnered a large amount of attention from her project Greatness, which displays her ability to effortlessly flip words over pounding bass and trap heavy beats. She has been able to win over a barrage of fans in the midwest, where she recently opened up for Chief Keef, and where her label, BMB Records is based.
She was recently featured on label mate Charli Baltimore’s mixtape Hard 2 Kill and fellow Chicago rapper Shawnna’s She’s Alive.
L Streetz has also opened up for August Alsina.
“A lot of my music is about struggle and coming up and I know a lot of people can related to that in the Midwest. As opposed to rapping about money, my music is about the underdog and it’s more so geared toward the people–be it man or female–who are working hard everyday and understand the struggle,” L Streetz explained.
