DZA’s prepping a new album.
Smoke DZA‘s known for being relentless when it comes to releasing music. The R.F.C. anchor and Cinematic Music Group rep has been hard at work with his R.F.C. collective for most of 2013, but hasn’t yet released a solo project this year, and chances are we don’t see one until 2014, as opposed to 2012, when Kushed God released two critically-acclaimed full-length albums (Rugby Thompson, K.O.N.Y.). Not to be outdone by the other gazillion artists putting music out this year, DZA returns to the solo circuit with the official first single from his upcoming LP, DZA (Dream Zone Achieved), featuring two of his best running mates: Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y. The track, produced by the eloquent Harry Fraud, is a re-working of a Rugby Thompson single, “Ashtray”, which originally featured ScHoolboy Q and was also produced by Fraud. DZA looks to most likely be released in 2014, but “Legends” is enough of a sign that where there’s Smoke, there’s fire.
