October 8th coming soon.

Virginia-bred Def Jam rapper Pusha T said the reason he had merely a functional barcode as the official artwork to the standard edition of his upcoming debut album My Name Is My Name is because he wanted the music to speak for itself. He didn’t want fans, or the internet for that matter, to get caught up in the aesthetics associated with a big name release. The “Sweet Serenade” rapper wanted everyone to focus on the tracks making up the project.

Today, iTunes made available the official-and rather lengthy, might we add–snippets to Pusha Ton’s debut, and if you don’t find the instrumentals, hooks and bars on these previews earth shattering enough to look past the super minimal artwork, you’re dabbling in the wrong genre, and on the wrong website.

Enjoy.
