Allen Iverson is arguably one of the best little man to ever play in the NBA. An 11-time All-Star, he finished his career averaging 26.7 points per game, the sixth-best career scoring mark in league history.
At halftime of tonight’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards at the Wells Fargo Center, fans and former teammates will pay tribute to The Answer.
Selected first overall by the Sixers in the 1996 NBA Draft, Iverson officially announced his retirement on October 30, 2013. In fourteen NBA seasons Iverson was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player during the 2000-01 season. He took the Sixers to the NBA Finals that same season where they lost to the eventual NBA champion, the Los Angeles Lakers. During his NBA career, he played with the Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies before signing with the Sixers as a free agent in 2009.
