Lorde, the 17-year-old that put out the smash hit “Royals,” has now signed a significant deal with Songs Music Publishing. The deal includes publishing rights to her debut EP “Love Club”, her album Pure Heroine, and all future work.
After months of vying for a deal with Lorde, Songs Music allegedly beat out half a dozen other publishers. The competition included Kobalt, Sony/ATV, Universal Music Group, and Spirit among them. It is now being reported that Lorde signed with Songs for $2.5 million.
In addition to being represented by her new label, Lorde will also write and collaborate with artists like Nelly, the Weeknd, Pharrell, and Diplo.
