Any fan of The Wire will remember the plot during the fourth season, when a precinct decided to give drug dealers and abusers free reign over a small number of blocks in a Baltimore City neighborhood. A few hours after its start up, locals had given it a nickname, “Hamsterdam”; the same titles as Maxo Kream’s, an up-and-coming Houston emcee, new single. This afternoon, the visual accompaniment to the song was released and it is filled with all of the mind altering hedonism that one can ever want.
Darker than most of the recent psychedelic videos in hip hop, Kream is seen sipping and smoking purp with his friends all throughout. The final moments of the video are quite awesome to behold, as we follow Kream getting subdued by the narcotics he has been consuming. It’s an interesting visual to say the least, and can be enjoyed below.
