The New York City Mayor de Blasio took time out of his busy schedule to call into the Hot 97 Morning Show to speak with Old Man Ebro and Rosenberg about some of the city’s most important issues.
In regards to the public school system, Bill de Blasio believes “We have to fix the root causes here, and so that’s what our policy is about, we’re trying to reach out to every child and every family and fix the school system as a whole.”
He addresses the fact that the public school system is just not working and explains that his administration plans on making necessary changes to ensure that all children get access to a good education. As a parent of a child in the public school system, I have experienced how the system fails to teach our children adequately. It’s refreshing to hear those in the political world say exactly what many parents have been feeling for years. I found the interview refreshing and informative.
Mayor de Blasio also talks about charter schools, full day Pre-k programs, doubling after school programs and the controversial Stop & Frisk program.
