Long before the birth of Yeezus, or even before Kanye West dropped out of college and crossed over to that dark side, Memphis Bleek was Jay-Z’s first artist, protégé and infamous sidekick. Not to mention the two were already longtime friends. And while Bleek may have fell off during the ascension of Mr. Carter’s career, as long as Hov is still alive Bleek is in his will somewhere.
On this new joint “Extra Clips,” the Marcy Houses rapper gets back to his old ways and delivers braggadocios Brooklyn bars. And not that he needs help doing so but Bleek gets backup from Brooklyn hitters Uncle Murda and Yung Kha. The track also samples The Notorious B.I.G. on the hook. It doesn’t get more Brooklyn than that. Check it out here.
