Michael B. Jordan, Melonie Diaz, Octavia Spencer, and Lee Daniels were a few of the notables who attended the National Board of Review Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street this week. Michael and Octavia were honored for their performances in “Fruitvale Station.”

The National Board of Review named “Her” the 2013 Best Film of the Year. “Her”  is nominated for three Golden Globes (to be awarded this Sunday), including Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Actor. The film is an original love story from Spike Jonze that explores the evolving nature—and the risks—of intimacy in the modern world starring Joaquin Phoenix.  “Her” is currently playing in select theaters and will open in theaters everywhere on Friday, Jan. 10.
