While striking up a friendship with NBA legend Michael Jordan, Utah Jazz ball boy Preston Truman got a hold of  one of MJ’s most memorial sneakers, the black and red Air Jordan 12′s he wore during the 1997 NBA  finals, known today as the “flu game” XII’s.

The sneakers autographed by MJ himself, sold for $104,765 early Thursday morning, surpassing the record for game worn shoes worn by a professional athlete in any sport.

According to ESPN, “Truman said the proceeds of the auction won’t go to anything ‘overly exciting,’ besides the usual college education fund for his children and car payments.

But don’t think Truman’s shoe-selling days are behind him. Although he says selling the shoes was never about the money, he has another revenue stream for the future: a pair of game-used shoes Jordan wore in the 1998 finals.
