It’s a new day in NY

Michael Vick, who was ousted in Philadelphia due to a combination of unfortunate injuries, and the rise in play of eventual Pro Bowl quarterback Nick Foles, has signed a 1-year deal with the Jets, which was confirmed by the Jets just moments ago.

Along with the signing of Vick, who narrowly missed winning the NFL MVP award in 2010, the Jets also did the inevitable, and released former first-round draft pick Mark Sanchez. Sanchez, who led the Jets the AFC Championship Game his first two years as a starter, quickly fell out of favor with both the fans and the coaching staff, leading to the draft and signing of Geno Smith in last year’s NFL Draft.
