Mikkey-Halsted-e1281389364934

Some things don’t change for Halsted. His denim is still Selvedge. His riders are still wearing couture. And he’s still allergic to shellfish. And he’s still making meaningful music. The Chicago golden boy gives us what seems like the first single off of his long overdue Bulletproof Dreams album. He speaks of the continuing balance and hard times of Chicago, balanced with the hard work and dedication of those he cares about most. And it always helps to wash it all down with a beat from No ID.

One thing that did change is that Halsted is dropping the “Mikkey.” He spoke on that and more than you’d expect from a typical rapper in an exclusive interview last August. Then again, Halsted isn’t your typical rapper.
