Being put in a body bag is easily anyone’s worst fear but imagine waking up in one. As bizarre as it may sound, this actually happened to a man in Mississippi.
Workers at a funeral home had the shock of their lives when they found Walter Williams alive and kicking inside of a body bag.
The coroner was called to Williams’ home in Lexington, just north of Jackson, where family members believed the 78-year-old had died.
Holmes County Coroner Dexter Howard says Williams had no pulse and was pronounced dead Wednesday at 9 p.m.
Porter and Sons Funeral Home employees say they were preparing to embalm Williams when they noticed movement from inside the body bag.
Williams’ family members were notified and he was taken to the hospital. Howard believes Williams’ pacemaker stopped working, and then started again.
Williams says he’s happy to be alive.
Amazing.
