What is a mother to do when she catches her daughter twerking? Just ask Fraces Hena.

After getting word that her 11 year-old daughter was seen “moving your bottom in a very sexual and inappropriate way” at a school dance the, mother decided to teach her a lesson by forcing her to stand on the corner holding a sign that read: “I was disrespecting my parents by twerking at my school dance.”

“That’s ridiculous, to think that’s okay at a school dance,” Hena told a reporter. “And the school didn’t even call me and let me know that was going on.” Probably because they’ve seen worse…

Most passersby couldn’t help but laugh, but a number of people, including us, felt like the mom may have gone a little too far. Of course, Hena doesn’t think so.

“Every parenting is different,” says Hena. “I mean, what am I supposed to do? Whoop her and get the cops called on me?” Newsflash: there are other ways of disciplining your child that don’t involve hitting them or forcing them to stand on a corner with a sign.

I’m all for parent’s coming up with creative ways to get back at their kids, but I let’s face it, the child holding the sign was more for the mother’s benefit than the daughter’s. I honestly feel like this mom is more concerned about her daughter embarrassing her as a parent rather than her objectifying her body at a young age. Instead of teaching your child not to disrespect you, you should be teaching her how to respect herself.
