Mookie Blaylock charged after car wreck
Former NBA All-Star Mookie Blaylock has been charged with vehicular homicide stemming from his head-on car crash with a van last week. Blaylock’s was driving his SUV when the car crossed the center line on Tara Boulevard in downtown Atlanta and went head on in to another van. Inside the van was 43-year old Monica Murphy and her husband, Monica unfortunately passed away hours after the crash while her husband was admitted and released from a hospital. Blaylock was on life support following the crash but has since been taken off it as his status went from critical to stable.
It is now that Blaylock has been charged with vehicular homicide, driving on a suspended license, and failure to maintain his lane. Blaylock’s troubles get even worse as he was wanted in Spalding County due to charges of failing to appear in court, DUI, and drug possession. Authorities have said though that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in his crash last Friday.
