Amanda Berry proves that you could overcome obstacles.

This past weekend, Cleveland kidnap victim Amanda Berry made her first public appearance since the indictment of Ariel Castro at the Roverfest concert where rapper Nelly was performing.

During his performance of “Just A Dream,” Nelly brought Amanda on stage and showed her a lot of love. In front of the crowd, the St. Louis rapper shared some words with her.

“That’s how you tell the pulse of a city by the people that live there. I appreciate it. Since they up here right now, I want to make sure that we get a chance to thank you because I know it’s a long time and I can’t even imagine the type of strength and the type of courage that it took to keep it going. So for that I commend you and I say thank you.”

Having a normal life has not been easy for the three women with the lack of privacy.  Tormentor Ariel Castro has been sentenced to 1,000 years in prison. Despite not making an appearance at the Roverfest concert, the other two women Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight are currently keeping quiet with their families at this time.

These women are a true testament of what it is like to be strong after an horrible ordeal.
