dj-khaled-we-the-bestWe the best like DJ Khaled…

It’s been a rough week for the Wu-Tang Clan. First news of possible associate of the Wu, Andre Johnson aka Christ Bearer, trying to kill himself in one of the weirder stories of the year, and now more statements between RZA and Raekwon regarding the Chef’s decision to avoid all things Wu. It makes me shed a single thug tear inside to see such negative energy surrounding the group. But I’m sure they’ll see better days sooner than later. Let’s get to the music. You know the drill: Sound off on our Twitter (@TheSource). If you can do better yourself, submit a track or video to SYLR@thesource.com.

*André DeSaint – “Bar Up” (Prod. TSK)

The PayUp Game emcee is getting ready for his solo project and in case you feel like you can come at him just like that, you better knuckle up your lyrical skills. Old Dreams//New Themes coming at you 4/30.

Vandalyzm – “Left”

The self produced cut is just a warm up before St. Louis’ Vandalyzm drops off The End All Be All this summer. That intro is everything. #Unforgivable

*Kaddielak (feat. Curtis Williams) – “Dead Face$” (Prod. Ryan Ryu Alexy)

The Two-9 emcee joined Charlotte’s Kaddie on this somber track from his upcoming Free Drug$ project. It’s all about your motivation.

DP – “Jabar” (Prod. Brooklyn Taylor)

I first heard this track playing on WNYU’s “Now Where Were We” show and remember telling myself that this kid is doing everything right. It brings me back to some Dipset days mixed with Slaughterhouse. The cleverly titled Designer Casket from the Virginia Beach emcee dropping soon.

*Pink Floyd x Dead Prez – “They Schools (CHEATCODE Remix)”

Mash ups can go terribly or amazingly. Here’s an example of the latter. The MA DJ puts Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In the Wall (Pt.II)” with the acapella from Dead Prez’s track of the same name to give you something new to bang as you roll into your school’s parking lot on Monday.

*Shamtrax – “6 Months Later”

The producer and songwriter Shamtrax is here to share with you his experiences with a certain girl that changed over the short period of six months. You’ll be hearing a lot more from him as he’s working with 50 Cent, MGK, and Trey Songz. Love + Time = Lessons coming this Summer.

*Michael Da Vinci – “Infiniti Conversations Faded” (Prod. Free P)

Although it was recorded way back when, the Tennessee emcee drops off a two for one surprise that’s featured on Free P’s Imbue Panacea project. We have a feeling that at this rate his smooth storytelling will get the attention he deserves sooner than later.

*Well$ – “Dreams Of An Insomniac” (Prod. Atu)

If you get a full 8 hours of sleep every night, then you may not relate to this track. The NC emcee isn’t yet comfortable with his life like you might be so too many thoughts plague his mind deep into the night. Catch a glimpse of those thoughts here. MTSYD: The Revenge OF The African Booty Scratcher coming soon.

*Wally Left – “Welch Chamberlain”

North Carolina is making their case for the next hot spot in the geography of Hip-Hop. This new single from Wally Left speaks to Hypebeasts as well as those with simpler tastes. Let’s see if you guys can figure out the title of this track.

*Lyriq (feat. Caleb James) – “Weekend” (Prod. Reno)

It’s a Chicago thing on the R&B singer’s new single. Lyriq has been on a roll with his refreshing singing style. Book Of Lyriqs 2 coming in May.
