A new drug, HDACi, has proven to interfere with one of the ways that brain cells record memories and doctors could someday prescribe the drug to aid in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Currently, those suffering from PTSD typically use exposure therapy, mentally revisiting a traumatic memory in hopes of overcoming the anxiety associated with it and there is no medication that can be prescribed specifically for it.
