Can the Knicks’ season get any worse?
The New York Knicks, who won 54 games last year, and fell short of an Eastern Conference Finals berth, were experiencing a tumultuous season for much of the first half of the regular season–but that’s quickly escalated to disastrous. Carmelo Anthony is having one of the better years of his career, but a large part of his team has been plagued with injuries, and the rest just haven’t been playing very well. Raymond Felton is one of the main culprits–he’s having as bad a season as he’s had since he became a part of the Knicks, and he was involved in several trade deadline rumors.
His season just got way worse.
Just hours after Dirk Nowitzki sunk a buzzer-beating jumper in the face of Carmelo Anthony to win last night’s game 110-108, Felton turned himself into police after a woman submitted a firearm to the 20th Precinct saying it belonged to Felton.
Felton was immediately charged with second, third, and fourth degree weapons charges, and his court date is this coming Tuesday. The woman’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
