“Brooklyn’s Finest” grace the covers of Big Apple publication’s throwback issue
The legendary NYC staple mag, New York magazine, is currently featuring Jay-Z and the late Notorious B.I.G. on the covers of their prestigious “Yesteryear Issue”, which celebrates 100 years of pop music and pop culture in the “Capital of the World”.
Dated from March 24-April 6, the issue entitled “100 Years, 100 Songs, 100 Nights: A Century of Pop Music in New York”, gives props where props are due in Hip Hop, with a 26 page spread featuring the likes of Afrika Bambaataa, Run-D.M.C., Nas, and 50 Cent. On Hov’s cover, its a photo circa 1997 of a young Young rocking a Reds fitted and a leather. Biggie was captured in his 1995 splendor rocking a Kangol and leather while his crew from the Brook observed him twirling some goodness.
