The New York City Police Department had a plan to reach out to the good people in NY though social media but that idea backfired.
The NYPD asked Twitter users to share pictures of themselves posing with NY’s finest. They sent out a tweet saying they would features pics on their Facebook page. Instead of sending in photos with officers, the hashtag the NYPD created was filled with police brutality.
The hashtag the NYPD then good ugly when Twitter account Occupy Wall Street tweeted featured a photo of cops hitting protesters and captioned the pic “changing hearts and minds one baton at a time.”

We gathered a few which we’re sure the NYPD will not approve of. The NYPD thought it was a good way to reach out and communicate with the locals of NYC it just turned out to be the worst campaign they’ve put together.
