Even without winning a Grammy Drake still wins. This latest victory comes via his OVO (October’s Very Own) record label artist OB Obrien who drops a new song called “Steve Nash.” The TOPSZN general OB OBrien flows nicely over the Chef Byer-produced track and even gets an adlib from his label boss at the end. While you’ll find yourself bopping to this one, you may also be wondering why the ode was dedicated to the Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash who’s been sidelined for most of this year’s NBA season. Well that’s because Nash once played professional basketball in Canada where Drake and his OVO crew is based, before joining the NBA. Nash even captained Canada at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and again while qualifying for the 2004 Summer Olympics. He has since gone on to become the General Manager of the Canadian Senior Men’s National Team (SMNT). So there’s the connection, Canada show love. Listen to the song here.
