The night began with a special toast to Stalley made by his management team congratulating him on the success of his EP which originally started off as a mixtape and the rapper later told us that because it had received so much positive feedback, eventually after adding a few new tracks, it became his first EP. Stalley expressed his gratitude and said that he was just happy that the music was receiving recognition. The Ohio native who also dished on his busy weekend ahead with the BET Awards in Atlanta for his first BET Hip Hop Award Nomination for “Best Mixtape Of The Year” and then flying to DC directly after for a performance at Rock the bells seemed to be having the best week ever.
.
We also discussed his dream collaborations which included artist such as Bruce Springstein and John Mayer and his taste in architecture and design. He later shared photos with us of the brand new sofa and coffee table he’d just purchased for his new penthouse in New Jersey, which he has yet to spend the night in because of his demanding schedule, in our opinion not such a bad problem to have. We also laughed about Internet thugs and he expressed how he’s super quick to block and report a hater because in his words “That can ultimately take food off of my table”. As the night went on the family man also spoke about his children and his love for Brooklyn, since he’d initially moved there to play basketball in college.
.
After enjoying the night with plenty of signature drinks provided by Hennessy and a tasty Asian infused dinner, Stalley’s favorite being the Crusted Calamari and ours being the Lo Mein and Wok-Seared Salmon guests left with a copy if the EP and other fun promo materials such as buttons and lighters. A fun time was certainly had by all in attendance.
