The Indiana Pacers hosted the Atlanta Hawks for the first game of round one for the NBA playoffs. The Hawks quickly made themselves right at home in Bankers Life Field. Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap made themselves comfortable and combined for a solid 53 points. Since the All Star break the Pacers have not been playing the same basketball, many have wondered if the playoffs would spark a fire under the number one seed.
Pacer’s forward, Paul George showed signs of life by finishing with a double double. George dropped 24 points and landed 10 rebounds in tonight’s upset. The Pacer’s came within 2 point during the 3rd quarter when Millsap and Teague took the ball back in their hands. After the 3rd quarter run, the Pacers did not come within 10 points of the Hawks till the last 33 seconds of the game. Ultimately the Hawks sealed the deal at the foul line to win Game 1.
The number one seed should be aiming to come with a vengeance after being embarrassed on their home court in Game 1. If you missed the game, check out Jeff Teague breaking Evan Turner‘s ankles to get an idea of what you missed in the video below. Tune into Game 2 on Tuesday at 7 PM on TNT.
