The fierce rivalry between Greek powerhouses PAOK and Olympiacos soccer teams (yes, I said “soccer” and not “football”, sorry to those offended) reached new levels and sparked quite the spectacle at a recent game. Before the second half of the Greek cup began, PAOK supporters lit thousands of flares off and created a humongous ring of fire Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki. Needless to say, the sight was breathtaking and could easily be spotted from the air.

After being postponed, PAOK fans took it a step further and left a nice little parting gift on their way of of the game – lining the Olympiacos’ stadium seats with fish. Yup, fish. On all the chairs.

Not sure if PAOK’s strategies were successful, but they did see off their rivals 1-0 after losing the first leg 2-1 in Athens and advancing on away goals.
