The 2014 NBA All-Star game is set to take place at the newly named Smoothie Center (formally New Orleans Arena) in New Orleans. There’ll already be tons of star power in the building and the NBA has added more with this list of performers.
Per the NBA:
Pharrell Williams will headline the “Entertainment Series presented by Sean John at Macy’s” during the 63rd NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 16.
Williams will open the NBA All-Star 2014 festivities with the only player introductions set in all of sports, featuring surprise chart-topping musical guests. The game will air live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT, ESPN Radio, and in 215 countries and territories in more than 40 languages.
At halftime, legendary New Orleans native musician Trombone Shorty will tip off the celebration of New Orleans-themed music with performers including 20-time Grammy Award-winning band Earth, Wind & Fire. multiplatinum R&B singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dr. John.
Prior to the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest (Saturday, Feb. 15) airing live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT, Grammy-nominated artist Kendrick Lamar will perform an exclusive medley of his smash hits from his critically acclaimed albums.
