Pusha T Protege Continues To Build Momentum With Latest Visual
If you’re not hip to the next big thing out of Virginia, here’s a perfect opportunity for you to get acquainted with Terrion Jones, also known as Young Money Yawn. The VA-based rap practitioner has been on a tear as of late, dropping a slew of well received songs and videos, most notably “Gutta Gutta”: an irreverent manifesto dedicated to his impoverished environment which has taken on a life of its own on the local scene.
His two most recent mixtape offerings, Street Gospel and Lost Scriptures, respectively, have positioned Yawn as the next in a long line of heralded Virginia Hip-Hop artists; both projects display a knack for hard-hitting production, honest songwriting, and incomparable swagger.
Nowhere is this more apparent than in the new vid from Lost Scriptures, “Imaginary Player”. YMY takes Jigga Man’s classic braggadocios ballad and puts his own spin on it, leaving would-be rivals on the outside looking in as he celebrates with his comrades.
Have a gander at the Visually Inklined and Wapo-directed visual below, and if you like what you see be sure to download Street Gospel, here, and Lost Scriptures, here.
