Earlier today, The Game released the official video to “Ali Bomaye,” one of the popular cuts off his controversial album, Jesus Piece.

The man responsible for crafting that standout track and the album’s intro “Scared Now” is Atlanta native Black Metaphor.

TheSource.com was able to catch up with him to discuss his come up, his experience working with Young Jeezy and his reaction to his placements on The Game’s album.

What inspired you to get into producing?

I always had a love for music and instrumentals. I was never really into rap lyrics. I was that kid that was always into the beat.  Once I left high school, I picked up the hobby of making beats and I just kind of fell in love with it.

What was your come up like?

I went to college at Georgia Southern for two years. I spent a lot of time making beats, not necessarily really trying to get them out there. I was just doing it to be doing it, wanting to be the best at it. I ended up going back to Atlanta and landing an internship with the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. I got to see the lifestyle and the creative side of what was going on in the industry. That experience showed me that this is the life I want to live. That’s when I started to push and really get it out there.

What was your first placement?

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League helped me get a placement with the LEP Bogus Boyz. LEP came down to Atlanta and did a session with them. They let me play some beats and LEP picked a couple of joints they liked.  They released “Chicago Niggaz” in 2010.

How did Jeezy’s single “Get Right” come about?

I worked with Jeezy in July of last summer. I did the “Get Right“ beat after our session and I sent it to him. I didn’t hear anything about it until it came out. That was major.

Did you know anything about The Game’s Jesus Piece when you sent in your production?

Nope. I didn’t know anything about the album. They told me I was on it but I was skeptical at first. When the actual track list came out and I saw I had the first two on there [“Ali Bomaye” and “Scared Now”], I was like ‘wow’. That’s really when my whole prospective changed. That’s when I finally accepted the fact that I was in the door. The opportunities are here and this is really happening. It’s weird going from a stage where you’re doing it and you know that you’re good at it and then it just blows up from getting that one opportunity.

Did The Game do those tracks justice?

Of course. Those are definitely my favorite records out of all of the records I have. I’m picky about the stuff I like. I like artists flowing on my beats. I do have some records out there that I don’t really care for.

What was it like seeing that 2 Chainz and Rick Ross was on “Ali Bomaye”?

That sh*t was crazy. My mentor Kenoe called me and was like “I don’t know if you really know what’s going on right now. They got 2 Chainz and Ross on this record.” It’s still a surreal feeling. I’m excited but at the same time I have to stay grounded and keep working.

What can we expect from you in the coming months?

I’m working with Jeezy now on his next album. I also got another joint with French Montana. I linked up with him while he was on tour in Atlanta. I’ve sent a few beats to Boi-1da trying to get on Drake’s album. I also have some opportunities with 2 Chainz in the works. Not too long ago I inked a deal with Warner/ Chappell Music. That’s how get a lot of opportunities to work with these different artist including Drake. Huge shout-out to Big Jon, Key Note, Night Ryders production and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.
