QB Golson leaves Fighting Irish

Saturday night Notre Dame confirmed reports that quarterback Everett Golson was no longer enrolled at the university. There is no specifics on why Golson is no longer with the team or the school, but it is an academic related reason.

Golson was a red-shirt freshmen last year who led the Fighting Irish to the BCS National Championship. Notre Dame would fall to Alabama in that game ultimately finishing with a record of 12-1. The real question for Notre Dame now is who will replace Golson at quarterback?

This becomes an issue as Golson was the quarterback of the future for the team plus with last year’s success this team is built to win now. This now could be a hectic season for the Irish.
