Kellz isn’t letting up.
R. Kelly‘s musical resurgence hasn’t come without hiccups–he’s recently been accused of being out of touch with his own musical style and trying too hard to fit in with new school examples of fashion and culture–but there’s no deterring that there’s still a demand for the King of R&B’s music. His latest effort, the much talked about Black Panties, sold over 130,000 copies in its first week, Kellz’ best first-week showing in 4 years.
In an interview with V Magazine, Kelly announced the title of his next album: White Panties. According to Rap-Up, Kelly says he’s already completed a considerable portion of the album.
It’s gonna be another 12 Play album, It’s gonna be that type of album because there’s been a lovemaking album drought…and I’ve come to save the day.
Kelly also suggested a joint album with Mary J. Blige called King & Queen, as they’ve already been in the studio as of late working on new material.
