From Madrid to the south of France
One of the best strikers in the world is on the move to the south of France. Colombian striker Radamel Falcao will be leaving Atletico Madrid to join AS Monaco next season for a transfer fee between 50 million and 60 million euros, which is between 65 and 78 million US dollars. The craziest part about this deal though is the money that Falcao will be making during his time in Monaco. Throughout his 5-year deal Falcao will be making 14 million euros a year ($18 million) without any income tax.
Fueled by their Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev Monaco is looking to make a splash much like their French counterpart PSG did last year. Last year PSG landed high profile players Zlatan Ibrihimovic, Thiago Silva, and Lucas to put them on the world football map. Falcao isn’t the only big signing for Monaco thus far, he will be joining Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez, and Ricardo Carvalho next year at the club as well. Monaco is also currently looking in to acquiring Barcelona’s Eric Abidal and Victor Valdes too.
