“It was a clear black night, a clear white moon”

Last year artist Jay Shells did a great thing for hip-hop. He went around and tagged famous NY streets that rappers has mentioned in past songs. In fact, we currently hold the famous Biggie line “Smiles every time my face is up in The Source” sign in our current building.

Well it’s 2014 and Jay is back with part 2 of his “Rap Quotes” hip-hop project. Last year we saw Jay hang up signs featuring rap lyrics all over New York. This time around, Jay hit up the west coast streets of LA. The signs features lyrics from Ice Cube, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Kendrick Lamar, and many more West Coast rappers. As he always does, Jay hung the signs up in the precise locations that are mentioned in the songs.
