Local rappers should think twice before creating music videos to support their music. According to an article in the NY Times, local police officers are trolling YouTube and Soundcloud to look for clues and gang violence and other crimes. The latest victim, Murda Malo a.k.a Cuame Nelson, was arrested during his own video shoot when plainclothes officers dressed in his crew’s clothing picked him up. He and another member of his crew are both under felony indictment in a Brooklyn gang case.

Several other local artists have already been locked up with the anti-gang unit’s new initiative to bring down gangs across New York City. Music videos like the one below have been aiding the police catch rappers affiliated with gangs and other crimes. It’s only a matter of time before they crack down on the major players in the game, if they’re not careful.
