If your familiar with either NYC rap collective Ratking or British Singer/Songwriter and my personal 2013 Rookie of The Year (sorry Chancelor) King Krule you’d know that an official collaboration from these two was inevitable.
The two have been linked together since 2012 when Ratking remixed King Krule’s “Octopussy” and both have since went on to sign with English powerhouse with the vibe of an indie label XL Recordings. In the past few years the two acts have separately risen higher amongst the musical ranks, with both occupying interesting lanes in that they’re both somewhat obscure to many but yet highly in demand to others. Ratking also recently linked an endorsement deal with Converse and can be seen all over major metro areas including Time Square.
Ratking and Krule have been making waves separately- including Ratking’s recent performance at SOB’s for Hot 97′s Whos Next Event, but they also take every opportunity to collab with Ratking constantly opening up for King Krule on tour dates, including his last NYC show at a packed Webster Hall.
Here the two incredibly talented acts get together for what seem’s to be the second track (first being “Canal” released from their upcoming album So It Goes due April 8th on XL imprint Hot Charity and engineered by Young Guru, yes Jay Z ‘s Young Guru (the band had been featured on Jay Z’s Life & Times early in their career). The album also features Source favorite Salomon Faye
