On Thursday, August 15, former B2K member Raz-B was performing at a nightclub in Zhejiang, China, when pandemonium erupted in the form of a fistfight in the audience. In the midst of the melee, the 28-year-old tried to break things up but was hit in the face with a glass bottle, TMZ reports.
Following the incident, both Raz and his attacker were taken to jail, but Raz-B was soon released after the story was sorted out. Sources close to him say cops ordered Raz’ attacker to pay $5,000 toward his resulting medical expenses.
Once at the hospital, Raz-B (born De’Mario Monte Thornton) underwent an hour long surgery to mend the gashes on his face and a resulting “hole” in his lip, which required four stitches.
In a later statement, Thornton said: “F**k this s**t hurts. I have a f*****g hole in my lip. Thank god I made it to the hospital.”
On Friday, things got more critical however, as Raz-B’s publicist told sources, ”He is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible.” As things turn out, Thornton did not wake up the next day and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Sources claim the singer is breathing with the aid of a ventilator.
At the time of the incident, Raz-B had been living in China for three years.
The Source would like to extend our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery to Raz-B and his family. Keep following us for updates.
