2 Chainz knows how to get a Lollapalooza crowd hyped!

During his set on Sunday night, he debuted new music. He slid in the phase “I like the strippers” in the chorus and boom the crowd instantly started a sing-along. However, that was not the only song in his set about sex or strippers, 2 Chainz kept it classy with songs about the finer things in life. He sang about champagne on airplanes and having sex in a Mercedes-Benz. He performed his “Beez in the Trap” and “Bandz a Make Her Dance” as well as “I Luv Dem Strippers” and “Duffel Bag Boy.” The rapper who described himself as “the illest **** out here,” knew how to throw a party and deliver what fans want by having a breakneck pace where whole songs were barely played. Also, his undeniable stage presence saw him work the stage left and right; making sure the party wouldn’t stop on his watch.

The amped audience did provide a moment of pause when they lifted up a man in a wheelchair for a bird’s eye view just like the night before during Kendrick Lamar’s performance. Shocked by the moment, 2 Chainz shouted, “That’s the dopest s— I ever seen in my mother—in’ life, put him in the front row!” Playing cheerleader, he led the crowd in a chant of “VIP! VIP!” as they hoisted the man into the photo pit.

Then he continued on his set all the while mesmerizing the crowd with his word and rhythms. The energy was intoxicating with beats that could be heard from blocks away. Before he closed out the set, he suddenly gave the crowd a moment of seriousness when he paused and said, “I want to say RIP Trayvon Martin” but then quickly lighted the mood by saying, ” Now I want to say RIP to this stage” and kill this ****. Hanging on his every word, fans jumped for joy and the moment was as golden as the two chains around the rapper’s neck.
