Pete CarrollIt was total domination by the Seattle Seahawks as they completely demolished the Denver Broncos.

Things started bad for the Broncos right away as a safety gave the Seahawks two points, 12 seconds into the game, the fastest in Super Bowl history.

The Seahawks heavily regarded defense continued to pressure the Broncos throughout the game.  They forced a quick three-and-out and the offense took back over.  After a false start penalty helped a 30-yard run by Percy Harvin, Seattle made it 5-0 when Steven Hauschka kicked a 31-yard field goal. Wilson led a 13-play drive and capped it off with a 33-yard field goal from Steven Hauschka giving the Seahawks a 8-0 lead.

They then continued to pound as Kam Chancellor intercepted Peyton Manning and Marshawn Lynch forced in a 1-yard touchdown.  Malcolm Smith came up big again as he did in the NFC Championship; this time it was a pick-six as he intercepted Manning and had 69-yard return for a touchdown.

The second half saw a repeat of the first as the Seahawks once again scored in 12 seconds.  This time it was a 87-yard kick return for the touchdown from Percy Harvin.  It was a big game for Harvin who missed nearly the entire season due to injury.  Jermaine Kearse had a 23-yard touchdown from a Russell Wilson pass putting the Seahawks up 36-0.

The Broncos finally got on the board after a 14-yard touchdown from Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker successfully completing the two-point conversion.  But that would be it for the Broncos as the Seahawks scored again with a 10-yard touchdown from Doug Baldwin.

The Seattle Seahawks are the Super Bowl champions with a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos.

Malcolm Smith was the MVP of Super Bowl XLVIII. He had a pick-6, fumble recovery and 10 tackles.
