Since premiering March 15, Resurrection has risen to the top of Sunday night television claiming the number one spot. Though viewership has trickled from the initial 13 million who watched the first episode, some 10 million people have stayed tuned in to travel to the small town of Arcadia, Missouri.
This town is full of secrets that are slowly being uncovered by the reemergence of the dead, along with the help of J. Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps), an immigration agent who came to drop off 8-year-old Jacob Langston (Landon Gimenez) whom was found in China only to discover he had died 32 years ago. Last night’s episode brought about a lot of new questions as to why these spirits have chosen to return home.
The reincarnation of Caleb Richards (Sam Hazaldine) has raised panic among the town. During last week’s episode Caleb was found charging toward a frightened man with a hammer in hand whom Bellamy found dead in his home at the end of last night’s episode. There is speculation that the victim may know something about the holes Maggie (Devin Kelley) and Bellamy found outside of Caleb’s wood cabin, which has them wondering what he could possibly be hiding. Whatever Caleb has done seems to have everyone worried, except for his daughter Elaine (Samaire Armstrong).
Meanwhile Henry Langston (Kurtwood Smith) is still trying to come to grips with the fact that his dead son has reemerged. Last week Henry allowed Bellamy and his niece Maggie to open his son’s tomb to test the remains against the new Jacob that has appeared. To Bellamy’s discovery both the tag on the coffin and the one in the new Jacob’s shirt match, but it doesn’t seem to be enough for Henry to believe that his Jacob and the new Jacob could possibly be one in the same.
As Bellamy and Maggie search for connections to the reemergence of Jacob and Caleb, a new spirit has arrived. Her name is Rachel and she just so happens to be the dead ex-wife of Pastor Tom Hale (Mark Hildreth), Jacob’s former best friend. It seems like with the more bodies rise from the ashes so do more uncertainties.
Tune in to ABC Sunday night at 9 p.m. est. to see what mysteries Bellamy and Maggie uncover.
