Baltimore’s Rickie Jacobs pays his respect to Snoop Dogg
The sound and influence of hip-hop knows no boundaries. All over the world, in this case California to Maryland, people are influenced by those miles away from them on a daily basis. Today Baltimore’s Rickie Jacobs pays homage to the great Snoop Dogg.
To explain why he made this song and how much Snoop means to him as an artist; here is Rickie Jacobs in his own words.
When I was 6 years old my mother wouldn’t let me listen to rap, actually between the ages of 6 and 10. My father though, was a big fan of Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg during the “Death Row era” and in my opinion was a great moment in my life because I was introduced to Snoop Dogg. Being from Baltimore, Maryland bumping Snoop was an experience, you just knew the vibe was different in California. Since then I’ve explored other artists and fell in love with the culture. I wouldn’t be hear without Snoop so it’s only right that I pay homage.
