Who cares how you accountants feel, RiRi still got her money. Or does she?
Last year, Rihanna sued her (now) two ex-accountants, Berdon LLP claiming that they swindled tens of millions out of the singer’s pocket when she launched for five-year-international tour.
According to TMZ, it seems the tables may have turned for RiRi as the accountant firm has fired back claiming they don’t owe her anything explaining her money problems were her own fault.
For nine months, Berdon LLP has attempted and failed to get Rihanna for a sit-down and have now taken legal action for her disregard to settle asking a judge to punish her for her lack-of-action.
Specifically, Berdon LLP cites Rihanna missed established court-ordered depositions on numerous occasions including: November 2012 (which was ‘extended’), January 29, 2013 (no-show), May 8-9, 2013 (concert(s) interference) and the most recent June 19th she missed due to illness.
Berdon LLP spent around $100,000 scheduling and setting up a deposition in London for the singer only for her to cancel. They even saw her tweeting on the 19th and noted her performances before and after the date showing signs of little to no illness.
Berdon claims they’ve been “pushed beyond the breaking point,” and “can not excuse her behavior.”
The accountants are pushing to have Rihanna’s million dollar lawsuit dropped to counter-sue her for failing to show on any and all depositions dates fining her $100,000.
The judge has yet to rule.
