Jamie Torres, you over baby. Yasiel Puig, you coming with me
The other day when Jay-Z visited Hot 97 he told Angie Martinez that “there is always room on the roster.” Now it looks like Jay may be bolstering his Roc Nation Sports roster with two major leaguers. Jay is reportedly looking west at a pair of Cuban players, the Oakland A’s Yoenis Cespedes and the Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig.
Cespedes will be in New York for the MLB All-Star Game because he has been picked by Robinson Cano (Jay-Z’s client) to represent the American League in the Home Run Derby. Puig on the other hand may be the more difficult signing. The Cuban sensation who lost the NL fan vote today will cost Jay-Z and CAA a hefty amount of money if he were to make a move. Puig’s current agent will receive $42 million if Puig moves to Roc Nation Sports. Puig signed a signed a 7-year deal to be represented by Torres.
Now we play the waiting game to see if Jay-Z scoops up these two sluggers.
