Have you ever been stuck in heavy traffic and couldn’t go anywhere? There’s no switching lanes and getting off at the next exit, there’s no backing up and going the other way, no U-turns no nothing! You’re just stuck in traffic and you can’t do a damn thing until something gives. You feel stressed, stuck, anxiety and pissed. But you can’t do shit. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. You can’t make a move because another person that is driving is in control of the moves you make. The cars in front and all around you are obstacles in your way. You’re boxed in. So what do you do? What can you do aside from figuring out a way to get out of this traffic? You sit in your car, mad. You put on music to accompany you, you fix your seat and get comfortable, you adjust, you conform, you do nothing, you are stuck, and you can’t move until traffic eases up enough to allow you to bust that quick turn or switch lanes to get off this exit that is always backed up with traffic.
Such is your relationship. You have been stuck in traffic with this man for a while. At first, the two of you were riding dirty, in your coupe, chilling, laughing, drinking, traffic was flowing right? But you took it too far. The relationship went way past the exits that it was suppose to. Now your in west bubble fuck with this dude trying to find your way back to where you came from but you can’t. Why? Because you let him drive. He drove you way out of your lane, way out of your zone, way out of your jurisdiction and told you buckle up, I got you, you’re safe. But along the way, he started catching all these D.W.I’s tickets, violations and what not. The price is becoming too much for you to pay. But all these fines and shit got you stuck with him. Fines meaning kids, bills, mortgages, favors, debts, obligations, loyalty, years. Your license is suspended bitch you can’t even drive no more unless he’s driving you somewhere, so now you are stuck home with his ass and he is in control…
How do you get your “lifecense” back? You don’t want to be there but just like being stuck in traffic you do things to make the wait easier. You play music, you go out with the girls, you drink, you think, you get mad, you bang your head, you curse, scream. All that is great but you have yet to find a way to get the fuck off I-95!!!!!!!!! Traffic eases up a lil bit and whenever it does, you get comfortable again instead of getting off of that exit that you know damn well will take you to easier flowing traffic.
Ladies, you can’t get comfortable in life ever, I don’t care how much you trust him. You are responsible for you! How do you cope in a situation where you can’t go anywhere? First ask yourself, why can’t I go anywhere? Are you a hostage? You owe somebody something? Or is this man financially responsible for you and you feel as if life is going to be too hard without his help? Is the financial assistance that he is giving you that great to where you have to sacrifice your happiness, your freedom and the potential to be great elsewhere? You can’t do whatever “it” is on your own? Or are you just too damn lazy to?
Staying for the kids is bullshit. If the only way he can be a great father to your kid is to be up under your ass then fuck him he’s no kind of man any damn way and is just trying to control your life. Most women are suckers for a “family” and men use that to their advantage when they know a woman wants to leave.
If you’re not working and have no money you need to get up off your ass and get a job, get your life, get your money in order so that you can take care of yourself like a woman is suppose to and won’t have to stay with a man asking him to buy you tampons and shit!
If you are being abused physically, mentally, verbally, emotionally. I sympathize with you because I’ve been there. A man can make you feel real high like you floating on cloud nine and he can make you feel real low like shit on the bottom of a shoe. Just filthy, like nothing. He can abuse you to the point of making you want to kill yourself. But I’m also living proof that you can get up out of that and be great in life. Domestic Violence is not a death sentence. Get help, plan, plot, scheme and get the hell away from this crazy ass man! You owe him nothing to stick around, abuse or not, when it’s time to go you get gone.
In the meantime though, to cope, you must keep a positive outlook. You can’t get lost in this dead ass situation. What good will you be to the next man that deserves you if you have nothing to offer and your soul is empty? These relationships will drain you girl! Ugh, you have to keep going, keep your head in the books, stay surrounded by greatness, constantly stay on your grind to get that paper, keep your body tight, your mind right and wait for that traffic to ease up and inch by inch you move up and closer to that exit so that you can bust a move and get on with your life!
Being stuck between a rock and a hard place is not an impossible task to overcome. At the end of the day, if you want to get out of something..You will. Don’t make excuses, make moves.
Be Great!
