South Carolina sheriff refuses to listen to the orders of Obama about Mandela
A South Carolina sheriff has refused to obey the orders of President Obama and will not lower the American flag and fly it at half mass in memory of South African President Nelson Mandela.
Sheriff Rick Clark of Pickens County, South Carolina is openly defying the orders of the President to fly all U.S. flags at half mass at all federal, state, and local buildings and outposts until December 9 after the international human rights icon passed away on December 5 at the age of 95. Clark has declared via his personal Facebook page that he will not fly the flag at half mass simply because Mandela “was not an American”.
Clark further stated yesterday that, “I have ordered that the flag here at my my office be back up after tomorrow’s mourning of Pearl Harbor Day!” Supporters cheered on Sheriff Clark and shared his voice of “patriotism”.
What can be expected? It’s the American way.
Nelson Mandela wasn’t removed from the United States international terrorists list until 2008.
