Which, according to Quincy, could still potentially happen.
With good kid, M.A.A.D. city, successfully taking over rap as TDE relentlessly predicted, ScHoolboy Q‘s turn at the helm of the gangster rap vessel is here, and now. Oxymoron is the name of his debut album, which is rumored to have a release date sometime in September, and according to ScHoolboy himself, Kendrick Lamar left him no choice but to craft a classic, and that is what he’s attempting to do every time he sets foot in the studio.
During his first ever visit to Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show on L.A.’s Power 106 station, ScHoolboy went in depth on his early days doing shows with Kendrick Lamar–”I was tired of getting $200 a night, I gotta eat”–and the “million” records he’s already done with 50 Cent. According to ScHoolboy Q, out of all the records they’ve done, 50 still hasn’t done the one verse Q wants from him the most. Watch Q’s chat with Big Boy & co. as he discusses Oxymoron, and the expected hilarity that ensues.
