Yong Ho Ji is an incredible comtemporary artists who makes magnificent and breath taking sculptures using nothing but steel frames and recycled tires. Yong hand cuts each piece of tire with the upmost perfection which gives the final pieces a beautiful texture and one of a kind look.
The 34 year old artist who has sculpted a magnificent array of animals, hybrid creatures, and people has a fascination with mutation and hybrids as seen and influenced in his work. He enjoys taking animals and human characteristic and creating hybrids of the two which create new and interesting visual creatures, all made out of rubber. The sculptures can range from 2ft tall to a staggering 9ft tall for one particular horse installation. Yong Ho Ji obtained his Masters in Fine Arts in 2008 from New York University and has displayed countless solo and group exhibitions.
You can currently find permanent collections of Yong Ho Ji’s works at the International Contemporary Art Foundation, 21C Museum & the Seoul Museum of Art.
